Search in Tunisia

Search for Common Ground’s mission in Tunisia is to promote the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. Search works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. Search-Tunisia works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, security forces, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences and acting on common points. Through this approach and partnerships, Search-Tunisia has four main strategic objectives:

  • Promoting Peace Education;
  • Fostering non-violent social dialogue;
  • Enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and

We are searching for…

Search is currently recruiting for the position of Ma3an challenge Coordinator for the Ma3an program. The Ma3an program aims to increase the capacity of communities to withstand political, social, and economic stresses and shocks by achieving the objectives of:

  • strengthened community resilience,
  • mitigated community vulnerabilities, and
  • improved capacity of Tunisian partners to sustain and replicate the model.

Ma3an will spur 30 of Tunisia’s most vulnerable communities to action and generate sustainable resources for development in areas that are vulnerable to instability. Together with USAID/Tunisia’s programs in accountability, decentralization, and youth entrepreneurship (i.e., TADAEEM and Mashrou3i), Ma3an will consolidate democratic progress while fostering social cohesion in target areas.

Ma3an challenge:

The Ma3an Challenge’s overall goal is to provide opportunities for youth to engage in positive social transformation through the innovative use of technology and creative media. The Ma3an Challenge is both a real-life and a social media game based on two complementary pillars:

  • Real-World Peacebuilding and
  • Media Content Creation and Social Media Dissemination.

It is based on a player’s accomplishment of different challenge levels by

  • completing real-world peacebuilding actions following challenge instructions and
  • creating related media content (pictures, videos) and disseminating it on social media to induce social transformation.

Your contribution

The Ma3an Challenge Coordinator will work with the team leader, the communication team, other members of the Ma3an technical team and the private company that will be hired to develop the website. S/he will participate in the development and implementations of Ma3an Challenge activities.

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the Ma3an team to design and implement activities of the Ma3an Challenge component
  • Work with the private company on the preparation and execution of the market consultation.
  • Organize and lead the creative workshops with the support of the relevant team members (vulnerability mitigation team, GESI team)
  • Ensure that the activities implementation is inclusive and participatory
  • Coordinate closely with the private company to design and manage the ma3an challenge game
  • Participate and provide expert technical support in workshops and meetings with the main stakeholders
  • Work closely with the M&E officer to analyze information, monitor uptake of the game, evaluate its impact on youth participants, and offer recommendations for further improvements
  •  Lead the design of the social media component of Ma3an Challenge
  • Coordinate closely with the team members and the partners working on the program to develop appropriate content and means of communication
  • Ensuring and managing the information security and confidentiality aspects of the content as well as the intellectual property rights of the content and product of Ma3an Challenge
  • Conducting technical research and improvement of methodologies as needed

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.

Duration:

initial 12-month contract (CDD), extendable, with start date on July 1st,2019.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Relevant higher education degree in media, journalism or any other related field
  • 2 to 3 years of proven experience in Social Media Management and content productions Interest in peacebuilding and conflict transformation and/or in positive youth development - prior experience in any of these field would be a strong asset Demonstrated experience working with web design company or in the gaming design field
  • Good social media content production skills
  • Creative and innovative mindset
  • Good organizational and reporting skills;
  • Good coordination, communication (verbal and written) and networking skills
  • Ability to manage relationships – able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate with colleagues in an open and constructive way.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, often challenging environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work through stringent deadlines.
  • Fluent in written and oral Arabic and English. French would be a plus.
