Search in Tunisia
SFCG’s mission in Tunisia is to promote the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of
all parts of society while building their capacities. SFCG works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian
society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. SFCGTunisia works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, security forces, and local
authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences
and acting on common points. Through this approach and partnerships, SFCG-Tunisia has four main
strategic objectives: (i) Promoting Peace Education; (ii) Fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii)
Enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (vi) Transforming Violent Extremism in Tunisia.

We are searching for…
Search-Tunisia is looking to recruit a Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant for a new, exciting project that
leverages mass media to promote democratic consolidation and youth leadership. Search strongly
believes that fostering youth engagement in the political sphere holds the potential to develop a lifelong
engagement in the democratic process and sustain Tunisia’s democratic transition. Based on this belief,
Search and its production partner Ma’an network will produce a reality television program to increase
young women and men’s interest in constructively participating in politics, peacefully engaging with their
national and local governments, and improving mutual understanding and trust, ultimately contributing to
higher youth turnout in the 2019 elections in Tunisia.

Your contribution
The M&E assistant will support the M&E unit in the development and implementation of a monitoring and
evaluation system for the “media for social change” project. Under the supervision of the DM&E
coordinator, S/he will ensure that all M&E activities are carried out in an efficient and timely fashion. The assistant will assist the DM&E coordinator in project activity monitoring, documentations, data collection as well as database management of information.

This position will be based in Tunis, with frequent travel to the field within the project areas. The working
languages for this position are French, Arabic and English

Roles and Responsibilities:

  •  Work with the DM&E coordinator to develop appropriate project monitoring and evaluation tools in
    line with SFCG Design M&E system and donor requirements
  • Develop tools to monitor social media component of the project according to SFCG 3R
    Framework : online surveys, content analysis of the social media platform, track of the evolution
    of the audience reached, …
  •  Produce a routine monitoring report of the social media platform
  • Support the coordination of all aspects of project monitoring and reporting and ensuring that data
    is of high quality and produced in a timely fashion
  • Maintain up to date databases of program progress against the log-frame
  • Assist the DM&E Coordinator in designing and coordinating baseline studies and evaluations
    reviews
  • Conduct site visits on a regular basis and report findings to the DM&E Coordinator
  • Perform quality assurance functions during data collection, entry and storage for monitoring
    purpose
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Media & Communications staff when developing
    newsletters, weekly reporting, blog posts
  • Work closely with the DM&E Coordinator to document the project inputs, outputs, outcomes and
    impacts and ensure full compliance with the M&E framework.
  • Responsible for the data entry and management of all activities on the project and ensure that
    M&E data is stored on the project database according to standards outlined in M&E plan
  • Produce all required M&E reports in line with the organizational policies and program specific
    requirements and submit to DM&E Coordinator.
  • Contribute to collecting case studies, success story, documenting best practice, lesson learned
    and manage those information in project’s reports and other knowledge products.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other
duties that are broadly in line with the above key duties.

Duration: contract initial 12 month (CDD), with start date in January 2019

Critères d'éligibilité

  • BS/BA or its international equivalent in Social Development, Statistics, media, communication, or other relevant field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in M&E and learning functions on donor-funded programs related to community development, youth engagement, local governance, social media projects;
  • Experience working in an international NGO environment highly desirable
  • Familiarity with peacebuilding, social inclusion and conflict mitigation approaches
  • Strong understanding of the political and social context in Tunisia
  • Fluent in written and oral Arabic, and very good working knowledge of English and/or French.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of applying various monitoring tools, including logical
  • framework, theory of change, result indicators
  • Understanding of data privacy standards;
  • Experience of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
  • Experience of monitoring social media platform
  • Excellent data management, oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of data analysis software and basic computer skills are required;
  • Good interpersonal, communications, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, often challenging environment with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work through stringent deadlines with attention to detail, and coordinate and compile information from various sources
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Flexibility and capacity to adapt to evolving contexts
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate with colleagues in an open and constructive way
