MAJOR FUNCTION:

Active NGO participation is fundamental to guarantee a smooth transition and a real process of democratization in Libya. Only active local NGO participation will guarantee the long-term conservation of biodiversity. The proposed project will focus on the environmental NGO community in Libya. Over the next two years, with support from the EU, WWF Mediterranean programme Office (WWF Medpo) and its partner, Libyan Wildlife Trust (LWT), will work on strengthening the capacity of Libyan environmental NGOs. The emerging civil society needs to build up basic organizational skills and will greatly benefit from knowledge-sharing with NGO colleagues from Tunisia and Morocco. The project will specifically increase the capacity of the selected NGOs to influence local and national decision-making processes by strengthening their communication and advocacy capacity.

The general task of the Website manager (Libya project) is to prepare the concept, to develop, to implement and to manage of the project website of “Enabling Libyan NGOs to shape the future of the new Libyan Democracy” project.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of the infrastructure, hardware, and software utilized for the project website;
• Monitors web traffic, performance and capacity to identify, prevent and resolve issues;
• Coordinates with stakeholders to ensure that the site provides content and functionality that meet the business needs of the organization;
• Maintains appropriate security and troubleshoots any issues;
• She/he reports to WWF NA director(a monthly action plan);
• True first level manager;
• Ensures that project goals are met and adhering to approved budgets;
• Extensive knowledge of department processes;
• Preparing the website’s specifications and monitoring the implementation with the contractual consultant;
• Manage all the platform activities.
