Job Description

Supporting regional and national fundraising activities and campaigns. Support in the administration duties of departmental activities and effectively contribute towards the organisations strategy and growth.

Working alongside the central office and regional fundraising coordinators, this role suits someone that is hands-on, self-led with lots of initiative and the ability to manage time and resources. Excellent written, organisational and IT skills are a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be an integral part of the Fundraising team, supporting the different national & regional fundraising sub-departments.

  • Liaising with and providing support to fundraising colleagues.

  • Physical support as and when required during the busiest times of the year such as Ramadan, Living Islam and other key events in the Fundraising calendar throughout the year.

  • To assist in and contribute towards the development, maintenance and delivery of the charity’s fundraising plan in the region.

  • First point of contact with any enquiries from other departments, donors and volunteers.

  • Liaising with other internal areas of the business so that the fundraisers have the tools to deliver effectively in their respective regions.

  • Creating and updating records on the DMS system in a quick and accurate manner.

  • Provide excellent support services at all times: answering queries and giving advice.

  • To maintain and develop procedures and systems to ensure the maintenance of manual and electronic filing systems.

  • Ensure routine correspondence and communications are drafted and circulated as required.

  • Maintain stock levels of stationary, merchandise and other office essentials, including ordering stationery and equipment supplies.

  • Arrange and participate in meetings, conferences and team activities, taking minutes for staff and managers meeting.

  • Liaising with colleagues and external contacts to book travel and accommodation.

  • Organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information.

  • To attend and contribute positively to meetings, conferences and training courses as agreed with the line manager.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, directors and the general public.

  • Assist staff in other departments and regions as required in order to facilitate the work of the charity.

  • Other duties as per the request of the Director of Fundraising and Communications in the interest of the organisation objectives.

  • Managing budgets and resources for national fundraising activities.

General Responsibilities

  • Must adhere to the charities policies and procedures, e.g. Health & Safety at Work, Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 1998, Equal Opportunities, Company Handbook, Quality Management System, Investor in People etc. at all times

  • Will respect the confidentiality of all matters relating to their employment and other members of staff

  • To demonstrate on-going professional development through reflective practice and participation in internal and external development opportunities as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development portfolio

  • To participate in the appraisal process and ensure that agreed objectives are achieved, taking responsibility for directing own learning and development activities (e.g. private study, e-learning)

  • To attend and contribute positively to meetings, conferences and training courses as agreed with the line manager

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, directors and the general public

  • Assist staff in other departments and regions as required in order to facilitate the work of the charity

  • Other duties as per the request of the Finance and Operations Director in the interest of the organisation objectives

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Highly organized and flexible.
  • Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines.
  • Maintains staff confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
