About

The Maghreb Economic Forum (MEF), is a Think-and-Do Tank, founded in 2011 on the premise of supportingfurther Maghreb integration and unlocking economic and social growth. With a population of 90 million the fivefounding members, Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia can create a solid social and economic spaceto thrive in an era of globalization and digitalization.

We carry out our mission as a non-profit civic organization. We want to do this in ways that engage the public atlarge during this era of profound, exhilarating, but at times threatening change.

MEF thrives to become a platform that allows groups and individuals to pilot their initiatives from inception toimplementation of solutions and recommendations.

All MEF collaborators whether employees, fellows, boards, or partners, believe in the possibility of transformativechange.

We seek a Community of Practice Manager to successfully nurture, build and champion communities that work on Gender issues in the different regions of Tunisia and will lead our new project called Gender Equality Community of Practice: Supporting Tunisia’s Changing Society. This position requires someone who is a part of the community and who facilitates conversations and connections among members, represents the Maghreb Economic Forum within the community and simultaneously serves as the voice of the community within the Maghreb Economic Forum and responds to issues, questions, needs and opportunities with honesty, humor, humility and humanity.

The Community of Practice (COP) approach has been identified as a promising platform that can support knowledge mobilization and collaboration across organizational boundaries. Distinct from project teams, working groups, or departments, COPs facilitate voluntary, real-life knowledge sharing outside of formally regulated structures, these communities could be described as “groups of people who share a concern, a set of problems, or a passion for a topic, and who deepen their knowledge and expertise in an area by interacting on an ongoing basis”.

 

Responsibilities:

– Proactively listen to and connect with individual community members and build trust among the community as a whole.

– Cultivate a community culture of safety, collaboration, learning and support.

– Cultivate and nurture a teamof Gender Equality Community of Practice: Supporting Tunisia’s Changing Society project.

– Recommend community connections by serving as ”matchmaker” for network members, as well as linking opportunities and resources that might benefit their work.

– Create and manage communications and production calendar, developing and distributing relevant, compelling content to share with and invite conversation around.

– Manage the online community platform and oversee content management, knowledge management, discussion moderation and overall engagement.

– Organize and facilitate conference calls, webinars and in-person events.

– Serve and liaison between the Maghreb Economic Forum and community members – communicating issues, insights, feedback and opportunities through the appropriate channels.

 

Strategic goals:

– Develop long-term community goals and translate them into work plans and action items

– Develop and refine metrics and assessment tools for measuring the growth and engagement of the community

– Develop clear monthly metrics reports and include recommendations

– Identify, analyze and report on issues, patterns and trends in community activity and growth

– Document and promote community success stories.

–  Ensure that the project is delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

– Develop a detailed project plan to track progress

-Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Critères d'éligibilité

  • 5-7 years of professional experience. Background in management, marketing or community organizing preferred
  • Experience working with diverse, local and global communities.
  • Demonstrated skills in creativity, flexibility and intuitive listening.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communicator in a variety of formats: written and spoken, in person and online and ability to figure out new ways to share and connect ideas and information.
  • Public speaking/presentation experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain positive relationships and foster networks.
