Objective:

IFES Libya has a diverse program with activities carried out in collaboration with various partners in Libya and Tunisia. The Tunis-based Project Associate will assist with logistical and administrative support for the IFES Libya field office in Tunis. The Project Associate will have the opportunity to gain experience in program administration, implementation as well as report writing to shape IFES’ work to povide technical assistance in election management in Libya. This position reports to the Chief of Party (COP).

Job Responsibilities:

The Project Associate will provide logistical and administrative support to the execution and management of IFES’ program in Tunis, Tunisia and Tripoli, Libya.

Operations/Logistics Support:

  • Assist in the preparations and implementation of basic procurement transactions for project implementation including market research, drafting of solicitations and contracts.
  • Ensure proper and confidential filing of procurement related documents and project records.
  • Responsible for monitoring/tracking vendor contracts, payments, contract ceilings, expiry dates and renewals.
  • Support logistics preparations including hotel and air bookings, visa arrangements for local partners, staff, and international consultants when needed.
  • Work with the IFES HQ and Tunis-based finance staff on administrative, programmatic, and financial issues.
  • Other duties as directed by the Country Director/Deputy.

Program Activity Support:

  • Provide administrative, operational, and logistical support to IFES Libya project staff to carry out program activities, including delivery of materials and documents to off-site locations.
  • Assist in the implementation of project activities – including events’ conceptualization, planning, preparation, implementation, and reporting.
  • Work with project staff to coordinate appointments for visiting staff and international consultants.
  • Conduct basic research needed for program activities and provide general support for compiling regular written program updates and donor reports.
  • Assist in translating/editing/reviewing project related materials in both English and Arabic;
  • Assist in preparing minutes of meetings or events as needed.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • BA in public administration, law, political science, or related field; MA preferred.
  • 0-2 years of related work experience with an international organization preferably USAID-funded.
  • Exposure to project administration – including finance and procurement management.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Strong level of proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Strong English and Arabic skills – written and spoken.
