The ICRC Delegation in Libya – temporarily located in Tunis – seeks to fill the following position: Accountant The position is based in Tunis

Under the supervision of the Finance and Administration Manager, he/she is in charge of preparing, reconciling and analyzing the accounting records and financial reports of the delegation, processes financial data on computer and provides end of month closing and reports mainly independently, takes part in cash flow management, participates to the budget preparation and ensures respect of financial procedures and guidelines

MAIN TASKS

  • Handles the bookkeeping of Libya Support
  • Controls and processes financial data on the ICRC bookkeeping accounting software (OSCAR) such as preparation of vouchers, statistics, bank reconciliations, cash reconciliation, correction vouchers, monthly closing, etc. in accordance with the ICRC financial regulations
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of the accounting transactions
  • Ensures proper filing of relevant documents for future reference, including audit
  • Helps ensure that operations run smoothly through efficient cash-flow management, covering the fund needs of the delegation
  • Receives from the cashier the Daily Cash Position Report and supporting documents then checks the accuracy and completeness of the documents
  • Replace cashier during absences
  • Manages the list of balance sheet account and prepare quarterly confirmation
  • Prepares all the necessary accounting closing documents on monthly bases
  • Actively participate to the budget preparation

 Official working hours are Sundays to Thursdays 0800 -1700 (one hour lunch break)

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Possess a university degree in Accounting
  • Sound knowledge of accounting software.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills and proficiency in Arabic and English
  • Have at least three years professional experience, including at least three years in a similar position
  • Be strongly motivated by humanitarian work
  • Have good Analytical skills
  • Possess administrative and organizational skills and have a sense of responsibility and discretion
  • Have the sense of responsibility and capacity to fix and respect priorities
  • Show proactivity, perseverance, and ability to cope with stress
