Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, a German non-profit organization striving to promote democracy, civil society, equality, and environmental justice is offering the position of a Program Coordinator for its activities in Tunisia and Egypt.
Under the guidance of the Office Director, the Program Coordinator will manage the program components with a focus on Natural Resource Politics and Environmental Justice. You will be based in Tunis and work in cooperation with civil society organizations in Tunisia and Egypt.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and develop the regional HBS Resource Politics and Environmental Justice Program.
- Manage cooperation projects with partner organizations and regional networking activities
- Identify new projects, partner organizations and networks in the North African Region.
- Plan and organize conferences, workshops, seminars, visiting programs, or other activities
- Administer the program component, review proposals, prepare budgets, and monitor expenditure
- Provide up to date reports and analysis about on-going political, social, and cultural developments in the region with regard to Resource Politics and Environmental Justice.
- Assist in the overall management of the HBS North Africa – Tunis program
The contract of employment will be based on local labor laws in Tunisia.
Critères d'éligibilité
- Languages : Arabic, English, German, French
- Educational level : Master
- Advanced university degree in social or political sciences or related fields
- Five years of relevant work experience and proven familiarity with developments in North Africa/ or the MENA region, program planning, and project implementation in the civil society sector in Tunisia, Egypt, or the MENA region
- Familiarity with gender policies and approaches in relation to environmental issues
- Proven ability to work independently, as well as in a team
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic required. Knowledge of French and/or German is an asset. Excellent communication skills
- Ability to travel in the region
