POSITION: Marketing and Communication Manager

LOCATION: Tunis, Tunisia

DATE TO SUBMIT APPLICATION: 12 October 2018

WORK PERIOD: Full-time (40 hours/week) for one-year contract with possibility for extension.

HIRING STATUS: Full time fixed-term contract, with a probationary period of 3 months.

SALARY: A competitive salary will be offered and negotiated, based on the candidate’s salary/rate history and the position’s requirements.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of : Marketing and Communication Specialist.

Description

FHI 360 is implementing Collaborative Action for Handicraft Exports (ACEA) project in Tunisia, funded by the U.S. the Department of State. In partnership with the National Office of Handicrafts (ONAT), the goal of this project is to foster a more competitive handicraft value chain in Tunisia, leading to long-term sustainable economic growth, increased exports, and increased employment.

This goal would be achieved through technical assistance to two handicrafts value chains, including the initiatives of two clusters. A first phase supported the “Natural extracts” value chain in the Northwest of Tunisia. While expanding support to this value chain, the project will begin supporting an additional in late 2018, to be determined.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Marketing and Communication manager will be supervising the Communication Officer and fulfilling the following responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to programs and develop/update project’s strategies and plans in favor of meeting the project’s main objective: increase handicrafts exports, while adhering to budget, scope, and schedule requirements
  • Ensure the planning and the development of the Project’s marketing and communication activities.
  • Conduct researches to understand beneficiaries’ needs in terms of technical support to meet the Project aims (enhance exports, gender and youth inclusion) and then develop strategies and action plans accordingly. Provide technical supervision for international consultants performing strategic market segmentation studies under contract to ACEA.
  • Build strategic relationships with key partners prepare and follow up all contracts, grants, and agreements under the guidance of the Program Manage.
  • Develop strategies and action plans for the regional branding and marketing of two value chains for the Project beneficiaries.
  • Supervise the development of valuable and engaging content for digital communication (social networks, website and communication materials).
  • Ensure coordination with the relevant counterparts of the Client and of FHI 360 HQ.
  • Supervise the design and production of communication supports (brochures, reports …) and provide recommendations about their presentation.
  • Implement systems to develop different databases in relation with communication and PR (contacts, pictures, videos, reports related to events etc …)
  • Provide support to the Project management such as troubleshooting and updating work plans
  • May provide administrative support to the program as needed by writing and/or reviewing, quarter reports.
  • Rigorously supervise the Marketing and Communication team including the Communication Officer and relevant interns.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, and Graduate degree preferred in marketing, communication or a related field.
  • Must have 5-8 years of technical and/or practical experience supporting products marketing and communication development for export promotion
  • Previous experience with handicraft products marketing is highly desirable. Previous collaboration with relevant public or private agencies is an asset.
  • Experience with team supervision and with contracts management.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Fluent in Arabic and French, fluency in English also desirable.
  • Positive, pro-active personality with good interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Experience with international programs preferred, and familiarity with US Government rules and regulations is highly desirable.
  • Ability to conduct short term missions in Northwest area of Tunisia.
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with clients and staff.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous processes, set realistic priorities, and develop/adhere to plans for successful implementation of activities.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and implementing and updating databases; familiarity with CRM software a plus.
